1. Who are your typically content buyers?
Our customers are information databases. Over a period of time we have developed a distribution network, which includes all leading as well as specialized information databases. Majority of our customers are based in USA. We work closely with content licensing managers at these information databases and help them efficiently source credible content.

2. What are your licensing terms?
Terms and conditions are unique to each licensing relationship; as a general rule, we prefer longer relationships that allow for growth with both companies profiting from the partnership. In that regard, licensing fees and revenue share agreements are dependent upon the type of partnership into which we’ve entered.

3. Why databases prefer to work with us rather than directly working with the publisher?
A large information database would typically have content from more than ten thousand publications. It is almost impossible for these databases to have direct relationships with all publishers. There are significant overheads involved not only in negotiating and signing agreements with individual publishers but also in managing daily operations of content feed. Contify.com helps in making information databases’ business model more efficient and scalable by:
• Sourcing efficiencies: Contify.com does due diligence and identifies the credible content providers for the information databases. It also addresses all the concerns of the content providers during several meetings or conference calls.
• Legal efficiencies: Contify.com signs the agreement with the content providers after negotiating all commercial and legal clauses in the agreement. Databases signs only one agreement with Contify.com and they get access to a large repository of content.
• Operational efficiencies: Contify.com’s content operations team not only controls the tagging quality but also ensures that the content feeds are received and distributed as per the publications’ schedules.

4. Are there any restrictions on what content I can license?
While everything on the site is available to be licensed, we may have restrictions on the content for use within a specific market or business model.

The steps are simple: once we have the list of content that you are interested in licensing, we review the list against the business model you are planning on using, and then we work together on building the right pricing and length of licensing term. Once our mutual business terms are in place, we will enter into an agreement based on the agreed upon terms. After the agreement is reviewed and signed, we start delivering content in next few days.

7. In what format will I receive my licensed content?
Our content is highly structured and normalized: we currently deliver content in either XML or fielded / tagged ASCII; regardless of formats. In addition, our content includes robust metadata that allow our partners to very easily integrate our content into their products, sites, and services.
